It is never simple to lose a parent. There is always a great deal of suffering, regardless of whether their health is deteriorating or death strikes them suddenly. Janelle, the mother of Nicole Kidman, passed away earlier this week at the age of 84.
According to the Guardian, the Australian actress found out about her mother’s death shortly after arriving in Venice for the 2024 Venice Film Festival. Nicole was not there because she had gone back home to be with her family, but she did win the festival’s best actress award for her movie Babygirl.
Nicole Made a Remark During the Festival
Nicole revealed, via Halina Reijn, the film’s director,
In addition to having to visit my family, I’m in shock. However, she deserves this honor. She created me, molded me, and led me. It’s devastating when life and art collide,” Nicole wrote. “And I have a broken heart.”
Later, she thanked everyone on Instagram for the “outpouring of love and kindness” on behalf of her family.
“Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express,” says the text on a slideshow of Nicole Kidman’s family photos. Our entire family is grateful that you respect our privacy while we look after one another.
Love is being sent your way, you two. I’m really sad for your loss. Many people will miss your incredibly vibrant mother. I hope she and your papa are now reunited in peace. I love you, xx.
In agreement, Glenn Close said, “Dear Nicole, The world around you has changed. Give yourself ample time to get used to the new situation. I’m so sorry for your terrible loss. Her spirit endures in you and your loved ones.
The same was true for Lenny Kravitz, who responded, “You and the family have my sincerest condolences.” I consider myself fortunate to have known her. May you rest in peace.
