Elon Musk Responds to Mark Cuban and Jon Stewart’s Mocking of Him

During a recent episode of “The Daily Show,” liberal billionaire and left-leaning comedian Jon Stewart made fun of Elon Musk, the CEO of multiple companies, for doing an interview with former President Donald Trump on his social media network X. Musk would, however, have the last say and tell them how the X algorithm operates.

Musk was accused by Cuban and Stewart of acting with ulterior intent when he took over X in late 2022, implying that he was trying to exploit his position to shape public opinion. Musk, a fervent supporter of free speech, has insisted that he will uphold that right on his platform for people on both sides of the political spectrum.

“I mean, have you not noticed Elon? Although it seems like a commercial, Elon is attempting to be the most influential man in the world since he is one of the most powerful people, but Twitter has given him the ability, according to Cuban. Stewart added, “I have to admit, I believe he may be that. He’s not even trying to be, in my opinion. He is the most powerful when it comes to establishing satellite connections for conflict areas and managing dialogue on the most significant media outlet.

Cuban went on to say, “Because Twitter is available in practically every nation, right? Consequently, Twitter allows him to communicate with the prime minister, who is the leader of every nation on the planet. And that individual, whoever is in charge of that nation, is interested in what transpires on Twitter, and since Elon Musk controls the algorithms and is the platform’s largest user, everything on Twitter is influenced by him. He can practically press as hard as he wants, anywhere his thumb goes.

Stewart went on to say that Musk worries about the possibility of a civil war, especially for white Americans. “I believe he’s quite evident that a civil war is unavoidable and that the white population is at risk,” he remarked. “Frightening, concerning,” Cuban continued.

The billionaire continued by discussing the X algorithm. “You get to establish the parameters of what you want to see happen when you develop an algorithm – I haven’t written anything recently, but it’s been a while. And he has undoubtedly done it to the things he enjoys,” he went on. But isn’t there a certain sort of tech bro malpractice, that there is this amazing demand for something in the market that is a little less prejudiced or… toxic? Stewart said.

Musk responded to the negative remarks made about him on X by providing details about the true operation of the platform. We have an open-source algorithm, unlike other sites. That was funny 😂. Additionally, the algorithm will infer that you want to interact and argue with ‘right wing’ accounts, which is what Cuban does a lot, and will provide you with more of it, he claimed.

“Mark Cuban and Jon Stewart slam 𝕏 and @elonmusk, accuse Musk of manipulating the algorithm to push his preferred narratives to influence the election,” the well-known X account wrote after posting the video on social media.

“Neither of these guys has a problem with an entire media industry that is designed to fabricate stories, create hoaxes, and outright manipulate information in order to support their preferred candidate,” he continued. Today’s political discourse and electoral politics revolve around a single platform that offers uncensored information from all sides, and now has an owner who doesn’t support the narratives chosen by the left.
