There once was a young child who lived in the countryside. The small boy detested having to use the outhouse since it stank constantly, was hot in the summer and chilly in the winter.

The child made the decision that one day he would push the outhouse into the stream where it was situated. The outhouse was situated on the bank of the creek.

The small boy thought that today was the right day to push the outhouse into the creek because the creek had swollen following a spring storm. With that, he picked up a big stick and began to push.

The outhouse eventually fell into the brook and floated off.

After supper that evening, his father informed him they were go to the woodshed. The little child inquired why, knowing it meant he would get spanked.

“Someone pushed the outhouse into the creek today,” the father retorted. Son, it was you, wasn’t it? Yes, the boy replied.

“Dad, I read in school today that George Washington chopped down a cherry tree and didn’t get into trouble because he told the truth,” he added after giving it some thought.

“Well, son, George Washington’s fathe,” the father retorted. “Well, son, George Washington’s father wasn’t in that cherry tree,” the father retorted.
