We all have to make difficult decisions from time to time in life, particularly when it comes to saying goodbye. We’d like to tell you a heartwarming tale of Carlos Fresco and his cherished dog, Monty, today. Their friendship was particularly strong over the last eighteen months of Monty’s leukemia battle. Carlos remained by Monty’s side until the very end.

After fighting leukemia for eighteen months, Monty’s condition regrettably resurfaced, and he quickly grew weaker. Carlos was aware that Monty was running out of time. So he made the decision to provide Monty one final amazing journey. They traveled to Pen y Fan, a summit in Wales’ Brecon Beacons, together.

Monty loved going on walks, especially in the hills. Even though he was weak, he enjoyed the attention and love from the people they met along the way. Strangers were kind and offered to help push Monty’s wheelchair. Many of them shed tears because they understood the pain of losing a furry friend.

Carlos would like to express his gratitude to everyone they encountered for their sympathy and friendliness in Brecon and on the hills. As Monty was a unique dog, it was difficult to say goodbye to him. “God bless and goodnight, little fella,” Carlos stated during a Brecon Radnor interview.
