My daughter’s birth at the age of sixteen drastically changed the course of my life, and my anticipated future never came to be. History is repeating itself with my 16-year-old daughter who is now pregnant; I got very little or no help when raising her. Since the father is no longer involved, she wants me to raise the child alongside her. I told her that I’m not ready to start over with a second child at 32, therefore she couldn’t keep it.
She was set on keeping the baby, even in spite of my position. Putting her things outside was my only alternative, even though I knew she had nowhere else to go.
When I got back home, everything I had been holding onto had disappeared. Among the items she had taken were my gold jewellery, some cash I had stashed away, and even kitchen appliances she could sell.
She wrote me a letter explaining that she felt entitled to take what she considered to be her “right” to begin a new life with her child because I had kicked her out when she was still a minor.
I haven’t heard from her in several days. Her pal said she’s alright and that she’s been able to rent a flat. I’m feeling completely lost and unsure of what to do at this point.
