While camping can be an exciting activity, it can also occasionally devolve into unanticipated horror. My sister and I were thrilled when we first set up our tent in the forest on a camping vacation. Nevertheless, when we came upon a bald man with a blue shirt and his dog, our experience took a grim turn.
Even though at first his presence seemed harmless, a disquieting sensation soon developed.Out of reflex, I snapped a picture of him after he left. We saw him again later, at a lake, and were uneasy with his invasive interest in our intentions.
We made up a story about meeting our father and raced out of sight down a secret trail, feeling more and more watched as he pretended to play with his dog and followed us. Our dread was heightened when we discovered later on from my mother that the man had been involved in a break-in at a house.
