A farmer wants to raise chicks, but he only has 200 hens and no rooster. He then approaches the next farmer down the road to see if he has a rooster that he would be willing to sell.
“Yeah, I got this great rooster named Randy,” replies the other farmer. He would happily serve you every bird you order.
Okay, Randy The farmer determines that even though the rooster is expensive, it will be worthwhile. Thus, he purchases Randy.
After taking Randy home, the farmer gives the rooster a pep talk and places him first in the barnyard. “Randy, please moderate yourself at this time. You cost me a lot of money, and you have a lot of chickens to tend to here. As such, I will be depending on you to do well. Thus, enjoy yourself and take your time, the farmer laughed.
Randy took off quickly as the farmer gestured toward the henhouse, as though he understood. WHAM! Three or four times, Randy nails every hen in the henhouse. The farmer is taken aback.
Subsequently, the farmer discovers Randy in the duck pen when he hears a disturbance there.Even later, the farmer spots Randy beside the lake, pursuing a group of geese. Once more, whoosh! He captures every goose.
Randy is out in the fields pursuing pheasants and quail by dusk.
The farmer is inconsolable because he believes his pricey rooster won’t survive for even a day.
In the middle of the yard, Randy is dead as a doorknob, as the farmer discovers when he wakes up the following morning. Overhead, buzzards are circling.
Shaking his head, the farmer laments the passing of such a vibrant and costly animal, saying, “Oh, Randy, I told you to pace yourself.” I attempted to calm you down, but now observe the damage you’ve caused to yourself.
Randy whispers, “Shhh,” opens one eye, and motions toward the buzzards circling overhead. They are drawing nearer.
