Mel’s relationship with her mother-in-law, Laura, was never easy. Laura was one of those people who would pretend to know everything. Laura would believe that her husband Edward and his brother Michael were her gift to the world.

She believed that her kids were the greatest thing in the world.

Edward once told Mel that if they made even the slightest mistake, his mother would punish them. Edward disclosed that they had a dreadful upbringing.

Laura’s parenting abilities caused them to experience numerous traumas.

In the past, they chose to throw a little party for their second anniversary.

Everything got off to a wonderful start. The music, the visitors, the cuisine… Everything was fantastic. Then Laura showed up. A dark cloud in their beautiful sky was her.

She gave Mel an envelope and said she wanted to speak with her privately. After the celebration was ended, she wanted her to open the envelope, which she referred to as her “gift.”

Mel was taken aback because she had not anticipated Laura purchasing a present for them.

Mel was astonished when she opened the envelope after the party was ended and everyone had left.

As though she had ordered Edward into her life, Laura demanded the money back from Mel for a list of costs she had incurred while raising her son.

Diapers: $2,500

$1,200 for school supplies

Sports gear costs $1,100.

Tuition for college: $25,000.

$10,000 for emotional support

“Taking care of a devoted son for you.”— precious (with a happy expression)

The couple knew Laura truly wanted the money, so they were taken aback. This was serious business.

Mel then created Laura’s bill on her own. She was planning to hold a party for her next birthday. She had the ideal opportunity to retaliate.

Shortly after, Mel utilized the same technique for her present on the big day. Laura never spoke to them again after that.

The Mel’s list is as follows:

$5,000 to hear her critique my cooking

At family dinners, smiling while making backhanded compliments — $8,000

When she “accidentally” forgets my birthday, I’m pretending not to notice— $1,000

The $30,000 cost of the treatment sessions following her persistent meddling in our marriage

$20,000 to teach her son what a typical family looks like

“Emotional support for handling her drama”— essential
