Liz Soden was usually sad about missing out on family hikes and camping holidays with their five children, as she had been seriously disabled in a car accident just three months before to their wedding.
Brad was determined to make changes.
Brad told Matt Lauer on Thursday’s TODAY, “I’m motivated when you make her cry.” “I’ll make it happen,” she said.
Brad, a plumber with no formal engineering training or degree, overcome multiple obstacles to create a wheelchair with treads that resemble those of a tank and are robust enough to maneuver through steep terrain.
Brad claims that we set a few fires, but since we were nearby, we were able to put them out right away.
Examine the development cycle of “Tankchair.”
The result was the “Tankchair,” which gave Liz the freedom she so much wanted and swiftly turned into Brad’s full-time job.
Liz responded, “I could go camping and trekking,” to Lauer. “When we went to the snow, I used to sit in the car.” I can now take my kids outside and chase them around. I’m no longer a prisoner in the automobile or at home; instead, I just go and travel.
Even though tankchairs are not covered by insurance since they are classified as recreational vehicles, Brad intends to give them away for free to wounded soldiers. The chair costs between $12,000 and $15,000, has a three-month waiting list for new orders, and is popular among wounded warriors. It can move up to 30 miles per hour.
