My spouse and children had left our house in disarray when I arrived home. It was the very last option!

When I arrived home from a week-long work trip, it was if someone had punched me in the gut. My husband’s negligent attitude toward the chaos and disarray finally got to me. I was sick of taking care of the kids and doing the majority of the chores by myself.

I packed my bags and headed to my parents’ house in search of solace and security, but I was filled with sadness.

The following day, when I returned home, Brandon was attempting to organize our chaotic home. Despite his apparent effort, I was certain that maintaining a tidy home wouldn’t be sufficient to mend our relationship.

As we ate supper together, Brandon told me he wanted to be a better father and partner. He acknowledged his error and vowed to improve the next time. That was just the beginning; I knew it would require effort and time to mend.

I was aware that I couldn’t continue to bear the weight alone. Brandon had to step up and assist me in taking care of our household and family. It was not only about the jobs, though. It was about being grateful and respectful of everything I accomplished.

We were going to accomplish something positive as we collaborated to improve the situation. It would not be easy, but I was prepared to give it a shot. I was prepared to battle for my marriage in order to improve it for myself, Brandon, and our children.
