You should have seen my husband’s face at that moment!
Amy, a woman in her early 50s, was looking forward to a Saturday spent with her husband of six years, Mark. But as he kissed her on the forehead, he told her he needed to be at the office because he had loads of work. He even assured her that if he could bring his work home, he would do so and bring home some delicious Indian food. Little did Amy know that this was just an excuse.
Although she wanted to spend the day with him, Amy decided to take some time for herself and enjoy a good book and a cup of tea. As she got lost in the pages, she received a message. It was from Tom, her husband’s best friend and someone she considered family. Intrigued, she decided to listen to the voicemail.
Amy learned that Coachella was a festival-themed outdoor restaurant. She selected a quiet table where she could see the entry clearly. She was waiting nervously, thinking that Mark would either not come or come by himself. She was shocked to see that Mark was going into the restaurant with a gorgeous woman who was wearing high-end attire.
Amy observed Mark seated at the table with Tom and his spouse Sasha. The four of them appeared to be enjoying themselves well, totally unaware of Amy’s presence. Even though she was in excruciating pain, she realized that now was the moment to act rather than cry.
To get the best champagne to Mark’s table, she phoned the waiter. Aware of the tension in the room, the waiter nodded and grinned slightly. Amy took a picture of Mark and the other woman, tagged Mark in it, and shared it on Facebook.
Mark’s face went white when his phone buzzed with the notification. He looked around the room wildly, but he could not find his wife. After that, Amy gave the waiter another call, placed an additional champagne order, and wrote on a piece of paper, “Cheers to a memorable double date and our divorce!” She left the restaurant and headed home with a sense of dignity and resolve.
Mark’s belongings were packed when he got home a few hours later. He made an effort to clarify that he was just having fun and didn’t intend to cheat on Amy. However, she refused to hear his justifications and lies. After Mark continued to live at Tom’s house, Amy realized it was time for her to file for divorce.
