The tale of Winston and Janet Howes’s love is proof of the strength of sincere fidelity. Their brief but intense affair, which started in 1962, developed into a meaningful and enduring relationship that stood the test of time.

Following their relocation to a charming farmhouse in a rural area of England, the couple established a family and a shared existence. However, destiny had other ideas, and Winston was devastated by Janet’s untimely death in 1995.

With a wonderful voyage ahead of him, Winston set out to memorialize his beloved wife. He created a magnificent heart-shaped planting of 6,000 oak trees that covered six acres of lush vegetation. Janet’s childhood home was indicated by the heart’s tip, which pointed to a peaceful meadow surrounded by trees.

This magnificent homage was kept secret from the public for fifteen years until hot air balloonist Andy Collett happened upon it. “The most incredible thing I’ve ever seen from the skies,” was how Andy put the scene.

Winston’s heartfelt act has inspired many people and is now recognized as a symbol of unending love. The beauty of the daffodils blooming in the middle of the meadow symbolizes the love that Winston and Janet had, a love that will always be imprinted in the scenery of their cherished home.

The memorial is “a magnificent and enduring tribute” that will stand the test of time, according to Winston. His tale serves as a reminder that true love is unbounded by time or mortality.
