Kerolay Chaves, a Brazilian lady, has started an online discussion after she said she was ejected from a supermarket for wearing shorts that were considered too short. Chaves vented her annoyance on Instagram, claiming that her skimpy attire led to harassment and her dismissal from the store. She attributed the response to her being “too hot,” arguing that women continue to experience discrimination for merely dressed however they choose.

There was conflicting reaction when Chaves posted a picture of her attire, which looked like underwear. Many sided with the grocery employees, criticizing her choice of clothing in a public setting, particularly in front of youngsters, while others backed her. Her story was questioned by a number of social media users who speculated that the incident might have been staged to increase Instagram engagement. Some raised doubts about the event’s veracity by pointing out hints, like her shooting pictures in a store that seemed to be deserted.
