A boy is anxious about what to chat about on his upcoming first date. He seeks guidance from his father. “My son, there are three subjects that always work,” the father responds.
Food, family, and philosophy are these. After the boy gets his date, they head to a soda fountain.
With ice cream sodas in front of them, they exchange long looks while the boy’s anxiety increases.
He choose the first subject after recalling his father’s counsel.Does the girl enjoy spinach, he asks? When she responds, “No,” the stillness resumes.
Following a few more awkward minutes, the child considers his father’s advice and moves on to the second thing on the list.
“Do you have a brother?” he queries. The girl says “No” once more, and there is silence once more. Next, the boy pulls his final card.
After considering his father’s counsel, he poses the following query to the girl: Would your brother like spinach, if he had one?
