I was ready to go out for a nice evening of theater and dinner with my hubby. We put the cat in the backyard after turning on a “night light” due to a previous burglary.
When our Uber arrived, our pretty plump cat slid between our legs as we walked out the front door and rushed up the stairs. Our husband hurried inside to get our cat, who likes to chase our parakeet, and returned her to the back yard because we didn’t want to leave them unattended.
I told the Uber driver that my husband would be leaving briefly since he was just saying goodbye to my mother because I didn’t want him to know that our house would be empty all evening.
After a few minutes, he got into the Uber, all hot and bothered, and said, “Sorry it took so long but the stupid bitch was hiding under the bed and I had to poke her ass with a coat hanger to get her to come out!” to my increasing amusement and horror as the car drove away. When she attempted to pull away, I caught her by the neck and covered her with a blanket to prevent her from scratching me like she had the previous time.
