The eerie location where a guy met his “worst death imaginable” was visited by two men. After the 2009 incident, the YouTube family Legacy Crawlers visited Nutty Putty Cave in Utah, US, to check how it looks now.

Spelunker John Edward Jones and his brother Josh visited a section of the cave known as the “birth canal” that year. In 2009, John Edward Jones and his brother went to the cave (Family handout)

Along with three other people, the 26-year-old medical student left with Josh to observe a narrow path that ended in a turnaround. However, Jones entered the cave through the incorrect entrance since a portion of it was still unmapped.

Due to his botched attempt to pass through the “birth canal,” he was left in a horrifying inverted position. The “L-shaped pinpoint” measured only 18 inches in height and 10 inches in diameter.

Unfortunately, Jones’s chest enlarged with each breath, further trapping him inside the small area and preventing him from leaving. Josh, meantime, was forced to abandon him and make his way to the surface in order to make a rescue call. Jones took a false turn and ended up pinned upside down while crawling head first.

“A big group of rescuers arrived to help with the intricate ropes and poce system, but the apparatus broke down. As a result of the strain that being inverted exerted on his body, Jones eventually had a heart attack.

It was concluded that Jones’s body could not be saved. Jones’s family and the landowners decided that the cave would be sealed off permanently, enclosing his body.

The location now has a commemorative plaque. YouTube/Legacy Crawlers

“The cave was breached with explosives within, and the entrance was subsequently sealed with concrete.”

The crew discovered a moving remembrance of Jones while touring the terrifying location: “Today, a plaque honors John Edwards Jones and is located in the cave.

Jones’ wife, Emily Jones Sanchez, stated to Desert News that she was certain there is life after death, even though she was not yet pregnant when her husband passed away.

I am aware that John is still alive.

I know this because I’ve been able to communicate with him since his passing, I’ve had multiple situations when the veil was thin, and I’ve had these special times when my faith is imperfect and I don’t fully grasp everything, but I know he’s there and that life continues beyond death.

The Last Descent, a 2016 movie that starred Chadwick Hopson Jones as John and Jacob Omer as Josh, was based on the story of Jones.
